Usefulness Attempts
In an attempt at giving this site a reason to exist, i have started some rearrangements and additions.
First up, we have the replacement of the pointless test forum, with the more useful Ravings page. This is where i have started storing some writings on a film called Primer(and possibly some some other topics as well. We will see). This may not seem to fulfill the requirements of the term "useful" to any of you who are not familiar with the film. However, trust me when i say it should prove to be extremely useful to people who are.
I have also rewritten some of the About page, so that it is slightly more accurate, and talks a bit about the actual site, rather than just rambling about me for no particular reason.
I have many more changes planned for the near future, but you will have to wait for a few weeks till the mid semester break for those. What i can tell you now is that the promised short film should be ready within the first week of the break, and that we have started work on another, much more ambitious, film project.

Ok, so thats not quite true.. While it is in working order(i hope),
there are a few more things that i want to do with it,
but i can add them later, so i put it up anyway.

Finally, an Update!
Well, its been quite a while since i updated here hasn't it...
There are quite a few reasons(excuses) for this, but i won't bore you with them.
Suffice to say that they have all finally been resolved, with the exception of laziness, which
has been temporarily put on hold so that i can write this.
A few things have happened since i last updated, so here is a quick summary:
1. Due to a sharp decrease in cool sites being found in my journeys around the net, i stopped posting my weekly finds (very) shortly after starting. Some of the reasons for this decrease have been removed, so i may start that again, at some point.
2. I finally got around to redoing the resisty logo! While the view of it on the site at the moment is just temporary, i hope to keep the logo for a while.
3. My TWSR project has been put on semi hold, for reasons that i will post on its site, so have a look there.
4. I have started on a new site design for here, integrating the new logo properly(well, sort of). It is still not what i was originally planning, but i may get around to that at some point still :). The new site should be up soon.
5. I have been working on a short film project with some friends, which will hopefully be released soon(still waiting for a couple of shots to be filmed). This project is actually the reason i got my act together and redesigned the resisty logo, as i needed it for the logo animation for my semi-fictional production company Resisty Productions.

Top Ten sites of the Week
A couple of days ago i realised that i bookmark over 30 sites a week,
but because i have so many and most are just dumped straight in the bookmarks or bookmarks toolbar
folder, i can never find or use them. So i decided to put all my miselanious bookmarks for the week
in a folder, and then keep the ten best in a perminant folder.
This site was inted as a place for me to post my 3D work, but as TWSR has taken over all of that(as the only 3D stuff i am doing at the moment is work on TWSR), so i have decided to post my ten favorite site here on monday each week, as a way of giving the site some semblance of purpose.
They are in no particular order, and include sites that i find usefull/interesting/funny. Most of them are found on stumbleupon. This is mainly so i have a way of accessing them from other computers, but if anyone finds them intersting, thats great too.
They will be on the links page for now, but i might move them to the homepage. I'm not sure.

Well, as you can see, I have not gotten around to doing the final redesign, so sorry about that.

New Design and New Hosting
Ok, as you can see i finally got my butt into gear and redesigned my site.
This time i have gone with a modular design, with absolutely no tables.
It also seems to work ok on IE, although it isn't rendering it exactly still.
Everything is done with div tags and CSS. To create a new box, all i need to do is copy one of the existing box's .php file, change its contents and title, and add a php link to the new box's .php file in the index.php file. I can position the boxes anywhere i want, including on top of each other. It is generally 1337.
I am planning another redesign for it in about 3 weeks, but I'm not sure about that. Basically, I am working off my laptop at the moment, and it doesn't have the power for me to create some of the 3d stuff i am wanting to do. Once i get back to uni after the holidays, i will be able to use my workstation again, so i will attempt to do it then.
As you can also see, i have invested in a proper domain name, and some hosting. My net connection in New Zealand was just way to slow and unreliable. It only costs me about $200 a year(actually slightly less), which is awesome. Hopefully it will work well.
Finally for this post, i should warn you that i will inevitably muck around with the site for the next few weeks at least, so expect some changes, and some stuff ups. I will try to leave it alone as much as possible, but i promise nothing :)

Back Online and Updated!!!
Well, a new year came and went, and in the back of my mind something niggled. What had I forgotten?
What was i supposed to be doing with my holidays? Then on about the 10th and i realized what it was.
I still hadn't updated my site. So, I booted up linux, and couldn't connect to my server. What had happened?
Had my dsl modem decided to assign a different ip to my server? Had i broken Apache?
Why am i writing this update like a bad detective show? I don't know, so i will stop now.
Anyway, to cut a long question filled story short, my server had died. It was a while before i had the time to find out why(ok, so before i got around to looking at it, but anyway), but i eventually found that its psu's fan had died, and the psu had burnt out. Since this is a psu from a old pentium 2, i wasn't sure if any of the new ones would work with it, but after a bit of research I found that they should work(hopefully). So, i ordered the cheapest one i could find($30 370watt. look at it go). It came just before work on the 22nd(the same day i write this), and i rushed to put it in, only to find, as i had suspected, that it didn't quite fit. But hey, i got it in anyway, if it is missing half its attachment screws, and it goes.
So, sorry to anyone trying to have a look at this site while it was down(why you would want to I don't know).
Something that needs an apology came to my attention before the server went down. I made this site for a bit of fun, so i never tested it, and i never use any browsers apart from firefox(home) and camino(school). Therefor, i had never seen how *cough*spawn of satan*cough* microsoft internet explorer rendered it. For some reason or another, i did end up seeing it on ie, and was shocked. Nothing lined up properly. At all. So i apologize to anyone who tried to view my site from ie. I will attempt to get that fixed, but i don't promise anything.
Ok, i think thats all i have to say for now. Now to update some of the rest of the site. And completely redo my layout coding because microsoft has to be different and not use standard html/css rules. yay.

You may be wondering why this site is called The Resisty, and what that name has to do with me.
The answers to those questions are rather elusive, but the best i can give you are:
Sorry about that, but the truth is that I needed a name for the site, and "Resisty" seemed like a perfectly good name at the time.
You could ask the same about why my alias is "Shamem", and get similar answers. Shamem means "desolate" in Hebrew incidentally. What that has to do with me? Who knows.
I think what i am trying to get at with this intro is that The Resisty is my site, I am Braedon/Shamem, and you are welcome. So, have a look around.
